The coup d’oeil of the photographer starts to be appreciated at the beginning of the 20th Century, and since that period, artistic photography starts to expanse with photographers like Man Ray, Brassai and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
The beginning of the 21st Century constitutes the era of photography.
JONG and DAUTRESME are two contemporary examples of the new wave of photographers who both create new worlds through their own perception of everyday.
Ellen JONG is a New-York born professional photographer who has developed new projects due to her unique joie de vivre.
She has exhibited her works in the very trendy Williamsburg NYC, in Miami during the Art Basel/Miami Beach 2003 and Shangai summer 2004.
For this exhibition JONG will showcase a series of prints extracted from her ongoing discovery of life, earth, freedom and sexuality. Through the use of the self portrait, she reveals an array of sensations and landscapes while illuminating self reflections in the tracks of her own pee.
Maxime DAUTRESME is a French-Brazilian photographer and a professional designer.
He has developed a very high sense and appreciation of art during his childhood living in Brazil, Japan, Korea and France. Finding roots from his well-known artist family, DAUTRESME has applied his vast visions to all media particularly in architecture, industrial design and photography. For this exhibition, DAUTRESME will showcase photographic installations of dual worlds separated and fused together by water plains, surfaces and its illusory implications. Using light, metal and plexiglass, his works are a display of his perfectionist and keen sense of beauty and craftsmanship.
