SixFootBlue is best known for ItemBound, a colossal Texture Pack that offers items an immeasurable variety of textures. But this prolific creator is also the creator of Haven, a cartoon pack with a cleverly dosed pixelated style.
Specifically, Haven turns its 16x resolution into a force to be reckoned with. This allows him to assert a pixelated identity that gives it more than a cartoon look. In fact, when you look at the world around you, you feel like you’re in a colorful retro video game. Especially games like Starbound and Stardew Valley.
Those games are graphically not too far from Minecraft, so you can imagine that Haven’s textures are still pretty close to the basic game. But despite these similarities, the grain and colors of the pack are quite frankly different from Minecraft’s style.
Haven’s colors are definitely brighter. There’s a certain dynamism that comes out of it, a welcoming world. The color palette, beyond its brightness, is more like this: with pastel shades, the textures are softer and more pleasing to the eye.
