LB Photo Realism Reload [Resource pack]

LB Photo Realism became one of Minecraft’s most detailed and realistic Resource Packs a few years ago, paving the way for a niche style, often referred to as photographic. 1LotS took this aging pack and updated it under the name LB Photo Realism Reload.

This “Reloaded” version is quite different from the original pack, as it takes back very old textures that were no longer used. The main goal of this resource pack is to make Minecraft not only as realistic as possible but also to make it beautiful and attractive for new players who don’t appreciate the default graphics. This includes photographic realism, which transforms the familiar cubic game into a series of impressive landscapes, with a level of detail that sometimes almost looks like you’re looking at pictures. However, LBPR Reload is still pretty close to Minecraft’s textures, and you won’t be confused at all to start playing with it. The resource pack includes many 3D models, animations and random textures as long as you use Optifine.

If you want to make Minecraft even more realistic, it is strongly recommended to use a shader in combination with LB Photo Realism Reload. You can, for example, take Chocapic13’s Shaders which is the one used in the video below or test other shaders.

How to install LB Photo Realism Reload [Resource pack] on Minecraft:

  1. Download the data pack. It should be a .zip file or directory.
  2. Open Minecraft.
  3. Select the world you want to install the data pack for, click on “Edit”, then “Open world folder”.
  4. Open the folder named datapacks, and put the data pack into it.
  5. Type /reload or press F3+T if you are in the world during the installation.
  6. If the data pack has a correct format, it would be enabled in the world. If you have enabled cheats, you can verify by typing /datapack list enabled and find an entry named [file/your data pack file/directory name].
