Underground Overhaul

This mod adds many new features to the new world, including new fossils, rich ore veins and underground biomes with different types of stones replacing conventional rock from root rock to sea level, as well as the addition of new deposits, hazards and ornaments. It also adds recipes that allow you to mix and combine types of stones in the manufacture of stone implements, as well as the ability to make prismatic splinters, combine walls into complete blocks and glass panels into glass blocks (so that jewelry and stone types have more use).

Ongoing underground biomes:

  • Granite
  • Diorite
  • Andesit
  • Sandstone
  • Red sandstone
  • Prismatic region
  • Prismarine
  • Quartz
  • Stone
  • Spider’s Nest
  • Lush
  • Lush Red
  • Volcanic
  • Frozen
  • Crystal
  • Mushroom
  • Terracotta

Note that this mod may be incompatible with other data packages that produce their own world generation (i.e. anything more complex than replacing vanilla structures), and certainly not compatible with data packages that also add underground biomes.

Installing this data packet on worlds with underground assemblies below sea level may cause these assemblies to change/addle blocks due to the world generation. More information about data packages and how to use them can be found on the official Minecraft wiki page.

How to install Underground Overhaul on Minecraft:

  1. Download the data pack. It should be a .zip file or directory.
  2. Open Minecraft.
  3. Select the world you want to install the data pack for, click on “Edit”, then “Open world folder”.
  4. Open the folder named datapacks, and put the data pack into it.
  5. Type /reload or press F3+T if you are in the world during the installation.
  6. If the data pack has a correct format, it would be enabled in the world. If you have enabled cheats, you can verify by typing /datapack list enabled and find an entry named [file/your data pack file/directory name].
