Without being overly laudatory, it’s no exaggeration to say that Mainly Realism is one of the most amazing packages the Minecraft community has to offer. From exceptional 3D modeling to photo-realistic textures, the pack wins on all fronts.
As you might expect, Mainly Realism is built on a very heavyweight: 256x resolution. This is where the pack can hurt for some, since this feature requires a configuration that is powerful to say the least. For those who can afford it, this resolution allows both to give the pack a photographic realism and to finely model the textures in 3D.
This 3D, precisely, is omnipresent. It is often used in a discreet but visible way: to dent wooden planks, to undulate sand… But Mainly Realism also uses it to mark the difference between brick and cement or to really pave cut stone. The emphasis on depth completely changes the way you look at a Minecraft landscape: any building is inevitably affected by these structural changes to the building blocks.
As an extension of this 3D, Mainly Realism’s textures themselves enhance an already comprehensive work. And, not surprisingly, it’s all about detail. In conjunction with the relief of the blocks, these textures give Minecraft a near-photographic look, with details that bring the natural blocks to life.
It is strongly advised to install Optifine to take full advantage of the Resource Pack.
